Day 2 of the Leinster schools.

We had two athletes in action today in Santry. First off we had Cliona Murphy running for St Dominics in the inter girls 1500m. Cliona ran a great race and looked as if she would qualify for the Nationals but she ran out of steam in the final 100m and finished 4th. She was very disappointed with her place but was a bit cheered up when she heard she had knocked nearly 6 secs off her best time by dipping under 4mins 58 for the first time. Pierre was next into action and was forced into the lead from early on in a slow run race. He led until the final 200m when Eoin Strutt from Sutton sprinted past him and Pierre was unable to close on him. A good run by Pierre and he achieved his goal of qualifying for the All Ireland schools on the first of June in Tullamore.
