All Hands on Deck the Spar Great Ireland Run is Here

Sunday 15th April Great Ireland Run

Mini and junior runners are to meet at Marys car which will be at the tented area close to the Start/Finish area off the Main road of the park at 10am. Come prepared for a cold day.

For those running in the Junior Run on Sunday – if you entered late, the numbers can be collect in the Park on Sunday. If you entered on time and didn’t get your pack in the post we can sort it out on the day. There will be over a thousand runners in the junior race this year, of all standards so go out and enjoy it!

After the race the water station gang should go to their spot at the bottom of the Hills. It would be better to park at the Hole in the Wall or bring the bike as the exits  from the Park get very packed and it can take forever to get out. alternatively you could park at the Popes Cross carpark while the junior race is on and then bring the car down to the  water station and go out Islandbridge gate when the Park opens.

We will be needing lots of bodies at the Baggage area, Goody bags and Water Stations and for the cleanup afterwards. If you are not involved in the Junior Run, report to Mary at 11 o’clock at the Tented area on the Main Road of the Park. This is the only race that we help promote and have full responsibility for, and which is our only fundraiser for the year. We don’t sell tickets, pack bags or do collections. This is our main fund-raiser day so please get as many of your friends out as you can. We hope to have the majority of people gone by 2.30 to 3pm.  Thank you all very much.

On Monday night we have a booking for the track in Santry at 7pm. If you come out on Monday we will be concentrating on field events, block work  and keeping warm so if you are wrecked after Sunday we will be taking it easy! Bring your spikes if you have them and wrap up well.

Busy few days ahead for all of us!
