Nasty underfoot conditions were the dominant factor at the above event in Santry. First off for Celtic was Ella Mae Cromie who ran in the minor girls race. A combination of reduced training and missing out on the north Leinsters meant that she struggled a bit but still finished in the top 20. In the junior girls event we had athletes representing St Dominics College. The girls battled well through the mud and finished 5th team overall. Alison and Zoe were both suffering from heavy colds but along with Katie Hanna, Emily Corocran and Aoife Corr they gave it their best shot. Finn Burke Power ran well for the first lap but faded a little on the second in the junior boys race, Ben Quinn and Chris Clarke battled hard in the inter boys race. In the senior girls race Cliona Murphy led her team of Aoife Corr, Ellen Byrne and Laragh Hoey from St Dominics to third place overall and qualification for All Ireland schools in March. In the final race of the day Pierre had a great run in his first year as a senior when he finished 5th in a very high standard race. Well done to all.
