What a day today has been! News from Pierre in Baku is that he finished 5th in a new personal best time of 8mins 32sec, 6 seconds faster than he has run before. A great result in very hot and humid conditions.
In Tullamore at the Irish Schools Alison Armstrong got us off to a great start with a win in the inter girls steeplechase. Jamie Kennedy followed with a pb and 4th in the junior pole vault with Muireann 5th in the inter girls. Daire Finn ran a great race in the junior 1500m where he came 2nd in a personal best time. Finally ever improving Cliona Murphy ran a great new pb of 4.45 in the senior 1500m finishing 5th.
In Santry we had an under 11 girls relay team in action at the Dublin championships and they were very impressive winners. Well done to Antonio, Antoniette, Alex and Julianne.
Catherine McManus was a bit disappointed with her first race in Belgium this morning but she bounced back tonight with a very good run in her 2nd race. She was also on the Irish relay team which finished 2nd. Well done everyone.
