The minor team from St Dominics College Cabra won the team event at the Leinster schools today. Great running from Celtic athletes Kate Harrold, Alex Corr, Kacey Tully and Keelin Gogarty helped secure the gold for St Dominics. Antonia and Aontoinette were on the Kings Hospital team. Clare Murphy and Sara Byrne ran really well finishing 8th and 18th in the junior girls race, Gillian Murphy and Cliodhna did their best but both have had recent layoffs which left them down the field today. Aoibh Collins was well up for her school Dominican Griffith Ave.
Sean Donoghue gave a master class in cross country running today, just let the lads know he was hovering behind them and then with half a lap to go hit the front and pulled away for a great win in the junior boys race.
Well done to all, next stop All Ireland schools in Mallusk on March 11th. Thanks for all the support today for our young athletes.
