We had a busy few days with relays on Wednesday and Friday, senior leagues yesterday and the last day of the under age Dublin events today in the very impressive DSD campus in Dundrum.

On Wednesday we had our under 16 team in action in Lucan. They won their heat in fine style with Maisy Oja, Pearl , Saoirse Bergin and Jessica on the team. In the final Maisy had a great start and Pearl kept the team in contention, Saoirse and Jessica held their nerve and the girls finished 2nd overall. Great performance from Maisy on her first outing and first time out of the blocks in a race.
On Friday night our 13 team ran well in the development race, our under 15 team ran above expectation and made the final of their race, the under 17 team had a great run in their heat but didn’t run as quick in their final just missing out on a medal finishing 4th.

On Saturday in awful conditions Abigail and Sam ran in the senior graded 800m races in Dundrum. Abigail ran a solid race and Sam ran well in his first 800m race and first track race of the season.

The weather in Dundrum was a lot better today for the juvenile events . We started off with Cara and Aisling in the hurdles, Ellen had a outing in her hurdles finishing 5th, Rachel had a good run in her 60m, Aoibhinn looked very good in her 60m heat, Ide did the high jump and the long jump, Ellie did the high jump and had a very good run in her 600m. Rachel Raftery and Paddy gained experience in their first 600 on the track. Lucas Lennon improved over 3 secs on his 600m time . Lucas Cahill came 4th in his 800, Daire had a good outing in his 800, Pearl ran her first 800 since her wrist injury and found the going tough today.
Max won his shot putt getting over the 9m mark again, Maisy had her first outing in an individual sprint and was fastest under 15 today, Sean finished 2nd in a close under 15 boys sprint.
Beautiful day, lovely track , such a shame so many of our athletes didnt compete today. Well done to those who did, you can see the improvement in confidence from those who do so regularly.
Thank you to Patrick and Mark who officiated today and thank you to all the parents who brought their children and supported.
