We had 4 athletes in action today in a very mucky Abbottstown at the National uneven age championships. First off was Darragh O Kane in the under 11 boys race over 1500m. Darragh ran a brace race finishing 36th overall, 4th Dublin athlete in. Darragh won his first national medal as Dublin came finished 2nd team in the inter county.
Lucas headed out over 3500m in the under 15 race, started off steady and worked his way up through the field to finish a superb 19th overall. This was a great run for Lucas following on his 17th in his own age group two weeks ago. His Dublin team won the inter County and also finished second region so two more shiny National medals for Lucas!
The girls under 17 ran a gruelling 4500m. Caroline and Saoirse both ran their best races ever , both running up an age group. Caroline finished in 39th place and Saoirse 63rd. Both have really improved this season and should get great encouragement from their results this winter.
Thank you to all the parents and friends who braved the conditions to support the athletes today. It was a tough one!
