News update
Last weekend in Tullamore our involvement in track competition for younger athletes finished up. Alice competed in the 80m under 14 but aggravated an old injury and had to pull out of her best two events on the Sunday. Aimee ran in a very high quality 200m heat but didn’t progress to the final. The previous Wednesday Joe ran a seasons best on a very cold evening in Tallaght in the 800m and Christopher ran a seasons best in the 3k. Clare and Cliodhna ran in the 800m.
This weekend Joe competes, on Sunday, in the National junior 800m in Tullamore.
A big thank you to the crew who helped at registration, baggage and medal distribution at the Dublin 10 mile last Sunday.
Some of the older athletes (2006 and older ) are headed to Dunboyne track in the morning(Saturday) for 9.30 if anyone free to go( sprints and middle distance) .
Finally if anyone knows of availability of a room to rent in the Dublin 7 area for the next academic year for for one of our athletes please get in touch with Mary for details.
More updates later
News update
Sat 9th July Dunboyne track 9.30 athletes born 2009 and older. Due to holidays and Covid we are taking an earlier break than usual this year. Nationals are finished this weekend for all the younger athletes with Aimee and Alice in action in Tullamore . Best of luck to both.
Keep an eye over the summer for updates and we 🤞will be back in action at the end of August.
Weekend update
We had 5 athletes in action in Tullamore at Day 1 of the juvenile championships. Goda was our top performer on the day running a great race, finishing 5th in the under 15 800m and knocked a second off her pb. Great end to a long season! Cliodhna got badly trapped in a very tactical 800m which ended up being almost a 400m race with a bad sprint from the bell. Despite the very slow first lap she wasn’t far off her seasons best.
In the under 19 girls race Clare gave it a good shot but faded over the last 100m, Joe hadn’t raced for a while and found the early pace in his 800m very fast. Despite just being over Covid he too wasn’t far off his seasons best.
Early on the day Bruce had his first National experience over the hurdles under 14. Well done everyone. Next weekend will wrap up our track season our younger athletes for 2022.
