Dublin indoors day 2

Result of the day was a fantastic 2nd place for Meave o Leary in the high jumpUnder 15 with a fab new pb of 1m 39. Aoife also jumped well in her first ever competition.
In the 1500m races Cliodhna Ryan collected another Dublin medal with a great sprint to win a well deserved bronze medal.
Keelin, Clare, Christopher, Eva and Aisling all ran their best in their 1500m races.
In the 60m under 15 qualification was very tough with the fastest 8 times over 6 heats making the final. Great running by Aimee Ryan to make the final where she finished 5th. Bianca was 4th in her heat.
Well done everyone.

Catherine the Captain!!

Well done to Catherine on a great run in Glasgow today on the Irish mixed 4x 400m relay. Overall the Irish team finished 3rd and Catherine had the honour of being women’s team captain. Well done Cat and well done to all the Irish athletes.

Dublin indoors day 1 results

We had a long busy day in Abbottstown. First off were the 200m races at 10am. Niamh and Adam ran well but missed out on spots in the finals. Very good run by Keelin to make it to her first Dublin final

In the 800m races under 15 Goda and Nina made the final. Erin and Aoibhinn fought hard for a final spot but missed out. Goda finished a fine 2nd in the final with Nina finishing 6th.

Shona, lily and Meave all made the finsl
Of the under 16 800m with lily having a great run in 4th, Shona and Meave not far behind. Great experience for all 3 making a Dublin final for the first time.

In the girls under 18 800m Keelin Collins was racing for the first time in two years, went out a bit too hard and paid for it over the last lap ending up 4th, Cliodhna ran conservatively early on and came through strongly for 3rd place.

Clare o Connor ran a great last 200m in her 800 to win a bronze medal and Joe did similar in his 800 and came in 2nd.
Our last competitor in action was Joclyn who finished 5th in the long jump. Well done everyone.
