Great night in Tallaght!

Last night in Tallaght we had a great night of 1500m results in the Dublin graded races. A 10 secs pb by Edel Monaghsn was the highlight of the night as she chased Jodie McCann who won the A race with Lauren Tinkler not far behind . Edel finally gets rewarded for her hard work over the past year!Fired up by the great runs by Jody and Edel the rest of the girls got stuck into the B race, Ellen, Aoife Corr and Aoife ni Bhroin all ran pbs, Sinead was just outside her pb. Aislinn, Edel, Clare, Aoife and Sara Jane all finished strongly. Joe and Evan had good runs in the A and B men’s races.
The 5000m races finished off the programme and what a run by Christopher. His first 5k on the track, got stuck in and ran a fearless race running 17.53!
Well done and great to see the enthusiasm and support for each other among all the gang there tonight.

Further updates from last weekend’s action

On Friday night in Tallaght Niamh o Connor made her first Dublin 100m final, Adam ran in the heats of the 100 under 18 but didn’t make the final. On Sunday in Tallaght we had 4 girls in the 600m under 13. Alice, Abigail, Ella and Megan all ran very well jn very competitive heats. In the under 12 race Pearl had a great run finishing 3rd overall with Jessica also doing well in her heat. Niamh and Joseph ran in the 200 heats and were very close to making their finals. Craig had a real good go on his first run over 200m and was a well deserved winner of his first Dublin title. Well done every one and a huge thank you to all who represented the club and to the parents who brought the children along. We have confirmation of further competitions for under 10 and 11 children on the weekend of 16/17/18 July and we will sort out entries this week,

Sean off to European Juniors

Great news last night when Sean got confirmation that he has been selected to represent Ireland in the 1500m at the European juniors in Estonia. Sean ran the qualifying time in Belfast last month and consolidated his selection by winning the National junior 1500m in Santry. The Europeans will be on 15- 19th July and probably will be live-streamed. Will update details later.
