The national even age groups cross country was held in Gowran today. We had Jessica competing for the Dublin team in the under 14 race, Goda, Megan , Erin, Aoibhinn and Abigail in the under 16. All the girls ran bravely over a tough gluey course, some left shoes behind sucked off by the sticky muck never to be seen again!! Goda was 2nd Dublin athlete to finish in her age group and was a scorer on the inter county team which finished 2nd!

Our senior women’s team who we see training in Grangegorman every Tuesday night retained their national team title. A great achievement for the women. Christopher ran in the junior men’s race and was coming through right to the finish. Tough day at the office for all the athletes.

Hopefully the showers and washing machines have survived the muck from Santry today!
Our hardy under 11’s Cara , Ellie and Darla were first off for the club this morning . All three ran well and finished their 1500m in good spirits despite the horrible under foot conditions.

Our under 13 team of Amelia 10th, Freya, Juliette (great run up an age group),Robin(first race in a year), Lauren and Emma all ran very well and were unlucky to just miss out on a team medal.

Our under 15 team were our standout performers on the day coming 2nd team overall, led in with a great 12th place by Jessica, chased closely by Megan, Caroline, Saoirse, Abigail and Freya. Great running by the all the under 14’s who moved up an age group today. You were awesome girls!
Hugh was our Lone ranger in the boys race and he finished strongly over the 3500m.

Our under 17 girls team finished in 3rd place by just one point! Goda led the team with a very good run in 7th place, backed up by Erin, Aoibhinn, Nina and Lily. Four of the team were up an age group today and got a good workout in preparation for the under 16 national in two weeks!
Cliodhna ran really well over 5k in the under 19 race finishing in a fine 4th place.
Well done to everyone today! You did yourselves and your club proud.
