Leinster Schools

AVIVA Leinster Schools Cross Country Championships 2013

Great news from the Leinster schools cross country today in Santry! Pierre added yet another title to his collection with a fine win in the inter boys race. The race was down to three runners on the last lap and Pierre showed great patience and confidence in waiting until the last 100m to sprint away for a decisive win.

AVIVA Leinster Schools Cross Country Championships 2013

In the Minor girls race Alison Burke had her best run ever to finish 7th just behind her schools mate Sinead who is from another club. With great back up from Zoe Couch who sprinted right to the line to finish 15th the girls were clear winners by over 20 points. Abbey Corr completed the line up from the club.

In the inter girls race our team of Cliona Murphy, Aoife Corr, Ellen Byrne and Orla Murphy missed out on qualification for Nationals by 5 points. Cliona qualifies as an individual. Alison Armstrong missed out by one place finishing 16th with 15 athletes to qualify.

Additional Leinster schools news: Ben Quinn finished 24th in the Boys Junior race today and his team from Belvedere came 4th.
