League no 2 in Santry On Fri 3rd May

Well done to all on a very busy night in Santry. We had a lot of athletes who were competing for the first time as well as our more experienced athletes out on the night. It was a long night and a big thank you to all the parents who helped out and brought their children out to compete. Stand out performances on the night were Chloe Corcoran, James Scanlon, Alison Burke and Sophie English in the sprints, Alex Corr, Dara Finn and Ella Mae Cromie in the middle distance events. We will have full results soon. Next Saturday league 3 will be held in Tallaght starting at 11. Details here .

Big Kids Leagues in Tallaght Wed 1st May

We had most of our older gang in action in Tallaght.First off was the womens 1500m and Claire Brennan was our best performer running 4.49 just outside her personal best, Niamh Donnelly who is in the middle of her finals in Trinity was next in running 4.58 not far off her best time ever. Sinead Cronin, Cliona Murphy, Heather, Aislinn and Alison all finished outside the 5 minute mark.
In the 800m races Ritchie ran 2.01.05 which wasnt bad, Michael Fitzpatrick ran 2.03.93 in his first 800m, Dylan ran his best time in 2.08.20, Danny ran 2.12.62.

The 3000m was the final track event and Pierre was running his first 3k on the track. He ran a great race fininhing in a time of 8.46.9 which was inside the European Youth Olympic qualifiying time. Unfortunately the timing equipment didnt function due to diminishing light and the time wont count but at least we know he can do it! Great run.

Smallies competition Friday night in Santry

Competition starts at 7pm. Be there 6.30 at the latest. If you are competing on Friday night dont come to training on Thursday. Bring a full tracksuit to wear after competing and between races as the evenings are still cold. Everyone should tray to get there, these competitions are great experience for the children which they cannot get in training. It takes guts to put your toe on a starting line! Training as usual on Thur at 7 for those not competing. Timetable and events can be found on the Dublin Athletic Board site here

We need more little people to come to training on Sunday mornings. This is your chance to do hill work which is great for overall strength and fitness and we are not under pressure for time.
