Club athletes had probably our best day ever at day 1 of the Leinster schools in Santry today. Aimee Ryan was first into action and she was a runaway winner of the minor girls 500m. Abigail had a decent run in a very high standard minor 800m. In the junior girls 800m Goda had a great run coming 2nd in a new personal best time.
The minor girls relay team from st Dominic’s came 3rd with Aimee, Erin and Aoibhinn on the team. Super run for Aoibhinn who was in hospital for a few days last week and showed great courage out in Santry today.
The junior team of Amy, Jocelyn, Goda and their MSB colleague Chidinma were superb today winning the gold medal and are the first St Dominic’s relay team to get to Nationals in over 20 years!! Thanks to Brian and Catherine who did some baton training with them and it really showed today. Super running!
Meave jumped close to her pb in the high jump and st Dominic’s 4x 300m relay team of Niamh, Lily, Jocelyn and Goda ran their socks off and finished 4th.
Great day for all the girls. Thank you to all the parents who gave lifts out and back and to those who stayed to support.
Goda and the junior relay team are through to the all Ireland schools in Tullamore on the June bank holiday weekend.
