Our under 16 girls relay team competed in the national indoor championships in Athlone today. The standard was very high and the team surprised themselves by qualifying for the final running a second faster than in the Dublins. The final was going to be a tough outing and with four of the teams very close in standard. It turned out to be a scrappy affair with Aimee having to detour to lane 3 to avoid a crash which saw the unfortunate DSD athlete take a heavy fall. Aimee managed to stay on her feet and handed safely to Goda and then to Alice who just missed out on 3rd place by .19 of a second. Martha had great first legs in both races.
All four should be proud of themselves, they couldn’t have done any more! Well done girls.
