This is a very hard working group and they finished 5th team overall . Louise showed great resilience after being pushed out of 12th place last year to having a great 5th place finish on Sunday. Big well done!
Emma was our only competitor in the
girls under 16 and she ran a strong race finishing 34th out of 58 over a hard 3500m picking off places all the way to the finish.
Lucas has been going very well in training and he finished a fine 6 th ( up an age group) in a very fast paced race. Great practice for his own age group in a few weeks. Ben was up an age group and will benefit from the race when he competes in his own age group. 52 finishers . Great race.
The girls under 18 faced a lot gruelling 4500m but our 4 athletes ran strongly with 3 of them running up an age group. Saoirse worked her way through to finish very impressive 6th with Caroline making up huge ground on the last lap finishing 10th, Jessica was solid throughout finishing 22 and hats off to Ella who finished 31st out of 40 finishers. 5 th team overall . Well done girls.
Daire was running up an age group in the boys race under 18, kept his place throughout finishing 36th out of 43 finishers.
Thank you to all the parents who helped out and to Juliette for her help with the warm up for the younger runners.
League 2 this Sunday with (thankfully ) shorter distances .
