North Leinster schools update

We had a long day on Monday at the North Leinster schools in Santry with a large group from the club competing.

In the minor races Juliette showed her fitness and resilience following her 4th place in the 1500m on Sunday in Tallaght with two 6th places yesterday in the 1100m and 800m. Great race practice! Ellen Fisher surprised herself with a fine 3rd place in the minor hurdles final!

In the junior events Jessica Ryan fought hard to hang on to 3rd place in the 1500m, Lelia Ryan came 5th in the long jump, Pearl o Brien and Maisy Kenny came 2nd in their heats( only winner progressed) both looked very good.
Freya Dillon is getting back to racing after an injury and will benefit from her busy few days doing 1500 on Sunday, 800 yesterday and helping her school team make the final of the relay.
Maisy, Pearl , Saoirse and Jessica’s relay team finished 3rd in their final.

In the under 16 races Caroline and Lama came 2nd and 3rd in the mile . Brave running from both and their first individual medals 👏
In the under 16 relay Pearl, Jessica, Emma and Freya had a great run finishing first team !
Martha and Danielle made the final of the inter 100m with Martha finishing 3rd and Danielle 5th. Martha also finished 3rd in the sprint hurdles. Aoibhinn came 4th in the inter 1500m with Abigail a few places behind her. Aimee Ryan finished 5th in the final of the inter 300m. Sara came 4th in the 800m final.
In the inter girls relay Martha, Danielle, Erin and Aimee held on to 2nd place by the skin of their teeth! Very competitive relays in all age groups yesterday and huge numbers of teams.
Great day in the sun in Santry. You couldn’t beat it!
Well done to all the athletes who competed and thank to the loyal supporters on the hill!

Results update from Sunday in Tallaght

5Well done to all who represented the club on Sunday in Tallaght. Top performances on the day were Max first in the shot putt, Lucas a fine 2nd in his first track 1500m, Juliette 5th in her 1500, Freya 4th in her 1500.
Good to see Rachel,Fionn, Holly, Ellen, Ă­de, Lucas Lennon, Rachel, Sadie, Daire and Ellen getting some good competition experience. Thank you to all who brought their children and supported on the day.

Competition in Tallaght on Sunday

A reminder not to park on the road outside the track. Parking at front of the track is limited. Lots of parking will be available at the shopping area on Airton Road which is a very short walk from the track.We will have the club flag so you will be able to find us and athletes should wear their club Tshirts or singlets. We will have these available on the day for new members. Wear warm tracksuit bottoms over shorts and bring warm jackets as it gets cold up in Tallaght and there is no shelter.

Sat 26th Apr Dunboyne track 9.30 sprints group and middle distance group born 2009 and older.

Sun 27th Apr first competition for the younger athletes on in Tallaght athletics club track today. Details on previous post. Entries will be taken on the day. 5 euro covers 1 or more events. Card or cash. These are try it out events for beginner and improvers. No training today for younger athletes

Sun 27th
11am at HITW sprints group and older middle distance group (born 2009’abd older).

Tue 28th Apr HITW 7pm everyone

Thur 30th Apr 5 pm group meet at Hitw. Everyone else 7pm HITW
