Day 3 of the Dublins

We were in Irishtown today for day 3 of the Dublin juvenile championships. First off was Caoimhe Lynam who was 4th in a quality 400m under 19, later on she came a very good 2nd in the 200m final. Alison Burke ran a very impressive 100m hurdles winning her 2nd gold of the weekend. Antonia, Aontoneitte and Ashley all the ran really well making the finals of the 200m. Julianne made the 200m semi final. Niamh O’Connor​ came 2nd in the under 12 high jump with Fiona 3rd. Teslem won the boys under 12 high jump and Golden came 3rd in the high jump under 14 with Clare O’Connor 4th. Well done every one.

Dublin championships day 2

A very windy Tallaght stadium greeted our athletes for day 2 of the Dublins. Alison Burke was first on track and she battled the strong winds to win the 400m hurdles in a new personal best time. Emily Corcoran also had a row with the wind while winning the high jump! Niamh o Connor and Aoife Corcoran ran well in the 600m final under 12, Alex Corr and Clare o Connor gave it everything in a tough 800m final under 14. Oisin made the under 12 semi final of the 60m, Aontoneitte and Ashley made their sprint finals, Chloe came a good 2nd in the under 17 sprint final. Well done everyone!

Dublin championships 1500m races

Next Wednesday night in Tallaght the 1500m races for under 14 to 19 will be held in Tallaght starting at 8pm.The following athletes are entered

Northern Ireland championship results.

At the Northern Ireland track and field championships today in Mary Peter’s track Catherine McManus was in splendid form winning the 400m in a new personal best of 54.36secs in only her 3rd ever 400m! She also finished 3rd in the hurdles thirty minutes earlier. Steffi Creaner came 2nd in the 200m, Clare Brennan was 2nd in the 800m and in the 1500m Niamh Donnelly came a fine 3rd just outside her best with Cliona Murphy coming 8th just marginally off her personal best. Well done everyone!

Results update

Last night in Santry Sean Donoghue ran a great race to win the under 16 boys 800m Dublin championship. Daire Finn took a break from his leaving cert to win the 800m under 19. Dora came 2nd in the under 17 race with Emily Murphy 4th. Abbey Corr ran a great 800m under 18 coming 2nd and the battler of the evening was Sara Byrne who fought for her first individual 800 m Dublin medal coming 3rd under 16. Well done every one!

Tue 13th National Indoor arena Abbott’stown 6.45 everyone. Bring 2 euro, water, shorts essential, crop tops /very light t shirts.

We will be doing our community games trials on Tuesday night. Anyone who knows 7 year old boys or girls who can sprint please bring them along.
