Lauren & Jodie selected on Euro XC U23 team

Our disappointment in just missing out on a senior team medal yesterday turned to delight today as Lauren and Jodie were both selected on the under 23 team. Celine and Pierre were unlucky to lose out in their categories as were Nadia(ill) and Fiona, not selected despite some excellent performances in the USA.

Congratulations to Enda and Clark who had both his daughter and son, Luke, selected on the team.

Santry update

Very hard to remember a nicer day for Nationals than today in Santry. Great course, great weather and great races! Our under 12 girls were getting their first taste of Nationals and did very well to hold their 2nd Dublin team position today. Well done to Jessica, Pearl, Amelia, Saoirse and Robin. Jessica took a tumble, got back up and managed to score on the Dublin county team which finished 3rd.

In the under 14 race Goda was on the winning Dublin team in the inter county and the club team improved on their Dublin result finishing 2nd Dublin team . Well done to Goda, Aimee, Nina, Aoibhinn, Aoibhinn and Erin.

In the junior women’s race Celine finished a fine 7th place in a very high standard race. Cliodhna, Clare and Aisling all ran well.

Our senior women missed out on bronze medals by one point! A very tough outing for the team with Cliona Murphy leading them in with her best race this year. Tough luck but well done to Cliona, Lauren, Jodie, Edel, Sinead, Aislinn, Alison and Aoife.

We saved the best till the final race when Pierre lined up in the senior men’s race over 10k. A stacked field set off at a great pace with Pierre already up at the business end from early on. He ran a great race and finished 9th in his first senior National. Great achievement!! Well done everyone!
