Zoom circuits are back!

Catherine has FINALLY recovered from our Spring/Summer series and is back for more Sunday circuit fun for 2021! 😅


We will be kicking off with the basics so all levels please feel free to join for some tunes and a bit of a sweat! 😄

Club news update

Hi everyone, just a little note to say that it’s great to see so many of you out doing your runs during the week. If anyone needs a contact for a buddy send Mary a message on 0864071141.

As per earlier post do not go out with anyone from another family if you or anyone in your house has symptoms or is a close contact with anyone who has symptoms. Ask your parents for advice if you are in doubt.

Try to keep to our training routines as far as possible. Watch out for ice on footpaths. Grass in the park is fine once you get there safely.

The best news is that Catherine has kindly volunteered to resume the Sunday lockdown torture treats for us all from this Sunday at 12. As you won’t be able to go into your gardens this time get planning for your circuit space now. (You will need about one meter of space in every direction). Have a folded blanket or an exercise mat for your situps, a drink, light clothes as you will get very warm indoors. Catherine will let you know before we start if we need anything else.

Can’t wait to see you all on Sunday. Spread the word as some of the new athletes hadn’t yet registered and we don’t have contact details for them.

Black ice warning

Just a word of warning to anyone going out in the early morning for a run. Watch out for invisible ice patches on the foot paths . Running shoes don’t seem to cope very well with ice. Be careful, the last thing you need is a trip to Accident and emergency in the current situation.

Club training update

Just a note to confirm that all club / group training has been cancelled due to the growing Covid infection rates in the community.
Our advice is to continue going out for runs and basically doing something similar to what we do at training. You can buddy up with ONE person from another family if you like and you must keep distanced. As schools are closed for all next week it should be possible for most athletes to get out in daylight.

Do not go out if you or anyone in your family has symptoms. If you are a close contact you must also isolate. Follow the guidelines from the HSE and this lockdown will hopefully be successful in bringing numbers down sufficiently to allow us back to group training.

Coaches will be in direct contact with the sprints group and the older middle distance group shortly. We are also looking at zoom indoor sessions as well. Details next week.
