It seems like a long time ago and the recent few days of sunshine make it hard to believe how cold it was in Santry for League 2. Thanks to all who represented the club and thanks to the parents who supported our athletes. Our standout performers on the day were Aimee Ryan in her sprint and 300m, Shauna Gogarty in the 300m, Antonia and Aontoinette in the sprints under 14, Oisin Gavin in his sprint, our under 14 sprinters Antonia, Julianne and Aontoinette, Alex , Clare and Keelin in the 1000m, Sara Byrne in her 1000m. North Leinster schools day 2

We had six girls in action today in Santry. First on track was Alison Burke who won the senior 400m hurdles. Next up was Emily Corcoran who won the inter high jump and was delighted with her 1m 65 clearance. We had 4 athletes in the 800m races with Sara Byrne having a great run coming 2nd in the junior girls race, Aoibh Collins was 7th, Cliodhna Donaghy was 11th in her first track race of the season. Kate Hanna ran in the inter girls race in her first race in a very long time. Well done to all.

Great Ireland junior run

We had a very busy day at the great Ireland run and in the midst of it all we had a group of our younger athletes in the junior races. Our star performer on the day was Caolan Collins who finished 2nd in the girls race running against much older athletes. Others who stood out were Sara Byrne, Finn McAuley, Lia Butler Lynch Clare and Conor Murphy. Great running everyone.

League 1 update from Irishtown

We had 19 of our younger athletes in action at Irishtown last Saturday. There were huge numbers in all the events with many heats. Thanks to Edel who looked after the gang and to Brian who officiated. Martha Fisher made the final of the 60m under 10 with Amy Corcoran just missing out ( over 50 athletes in this event), Hugh ran in the Boys sprint under 10. Shona was 9th in her 600m and Niamh Bergin took off with 200m to go in her 600 and came through impressively to 5th place. In the under 12 boys sprint Oisin Gavin did really well to come 6th in the final. Alex was 4th in her 800m race under 14 and Clare O Connor was 5th in her 800m. Ashley did well to make the final of her sprint, Sara Byrne was 6th in her 800m, Clare Murphy was 5th in her 800m . Well done to all the above and to everyone else who competed. Best of luck to everyone in league 2 this Saturday.
