Portmarnock races on Sunday

Venue for the races in Portmarnock is the GAA pitches directly opposite Portmarnock sports and leisure center. Take the Malahide exit from the M50 . At the Hilton hotel take a left. At the next set of traffic lights turn right passing the entrance to Balgriffen cemetery. Take the next left and after you go under the railway bridge there is a signposted site road to the right. At the top of the hill Portmarnock sports and leisure club will be on your right but you take the next left through the housing estate. Distances are as follows and we start at 11am

under 7 300m
under 9 400m
under 11 500m
under 13 600m
under 15 800m

This was a great event last year, very relaxed and an ideal event for all our younger athletes. We expect everyone to go to Portmarnock if possible except those who competed for their secondary schools this week in Santry. Competition will be over in an hour.

Samsung Night run

We have been asked to provide officials to do the medals and water station at the finish line for the Samsung Night race on Sunday night in town. We plan to meet at Easons in O;Connell st at 7pm. Race will be over at 10.20. Please let Mary know if you are free.

World relay championships in Bahamas

Well done to Catherine Mc Manus and Steffi Creaner who have been selected to represent Ireland on the 4 x 100m squad at the World relay championships on the May Bank Holiday weekend. They travel to Florida this week for a week of relay training and then go down to the Bahamas on the 30th of April. Its a great achievement for our club to have 2 girls on the relay team and both have been with the club since they were very young, Catherine started with us when she was 6! A lot of hard work, and a lot of tears along the way but lots of good days as well. This is the biggest competition either have been to so it will be very exciting for them both. Best of luck girls and enjoy the experience.
