Leinster intermediate cross country

Another great day for our older girls who were running in the Leinster intermediate championship in Adamstown, Co Wexford. Our gallant girls won first team gold with Niamh Donnelly 3rd, Aislinn Moorehouse 7th ( despite being out at the DCU ball last night), Sinead Cronin 8th and Aoife Ni Bhroin 12th, a fantastic achievement for the team and their dedicated mentors Dermot and Ian!

Sat 8th Nov Hole in the Wall 10.30 am everyone. We will have limited training on Sunday so we need as many as possible out on Saturday morning. ( older gang bring spikes)

Sat 8th Nov Brians group to Santry 11am sharp. ( spikes and Dry t shirt to wear home)

Sun 9th Nov Rememberance run helpers meet at hole in the Wall 8.30. Race starts at 11am.
Anyone whos training on Sunday meet at the Hole in the Wall at 11.

Dublin Championships Day 2 report

Club athletes won 2 silver team medals on Sunday , under 11 girls, under 13 girls and under 19 girls. The under 11 team were led in by Antonia in a fine 3rd place , followed by Alex in 7th, Keelin 19th, Antoninette 2th, Kacey 35th, Julianne39th and Clare 45th. The under 13 girls were led in by Ada in her best race ever finishing 8th, Anna an impressive 12th, backed up by Libby in 16th, Sara Byrne in a great race to finish 26th, Katie in 31st, Laura May in 36th, Celine 39th and Alannah in 45th place.

The under 19 girls were led to silver medals by Cliona Murphy in 3rd place, Alison in 5th and Cliona Carthy (running her first race in over a year) in 9th place. The same three girls combined with Eva Redmond to get bronze medals in the Junior womens championship.

In the under 9 girls race Niamh O Connor ran her best race yet to finish 20th with Aoife Corocoran not far behind in 25th. Oisin finished 28th in the boys under 9. Scott ran his usual strong race to finish 19th in the boys under 11. In the boys under 13 Sean Donoghue came through very strongly on the last lap to finish 3rd. In the boys under 17 Ben Quinn finished a fine 12th with Oscar running very well finishing 16th overall.
Pierre stayed with the group for the first 3 of his 4 laps and going into the last lap pulled away easily and won by a very big margin at the end of his race. Everyone who is training regularly is coming along very nicely. Keep it up and well done to all. REMEMBER WRAP UP AND LIGHT UP FOR THE DARK NIGHTS>

Under 13 girls team were 2nd

Junior womens team 3rd

Antonia 3rd under 11, Sean 3rd under 13, Ada. Anna and Ben top 15

Pierre 1st Junior and Under 19 boys, Clliona Murphy, Alison and Cliona Carthy all got individual medals in Under 19 girls race but as they were mixed with Juniors we do not have exact places yet. Eva Redmond was also on junior team with the 3 girls Under 19. Very disappointing that we didnt have our under 17 boys team out as they would have got a bronze team medal and qualified for Nationals. Well done to all who turned out to represent the club. Full report to follow

The Juvenile Uneven Age & U19/Junior & Senior Cross Country Championships are being held in Santry Demesne on Sunday 2nd November.

Tue 4th Nov Bogies at 4pm anyone whos free (Primary Schools). Now that the evenings are really dark as many as possible should come to this session.

Thur 6th Nov Navan road school Hall 7pm everyone except Dermot and Brians group who go to the gym.

Long sleeve tshirts under a short sleeve essential for winter training. Hats if its really cold. Check out aldi and lidl for flashing lights for arms and shoes. We need everyone to be visible and safe in the dark.

On Sunday 9th Nov we have been asked to do the registration for the Rememberance Run in the Phoenix Park. We will need to meet at the Hole in the Wall at 8.30 in the am and go over together to the start area on the main road.
