Graded Meeting Update

A beautiful night for racing and loads of great performances from our ‘Big Kids’. Not a bad way to spend a Summers evening in Dublin! First off we had Alison Armstrong in the under 18 Dublin Championship steeplechase which she won in fine style. Catherine Mc Manus followed with a win in the Senior Championship 100m. The 400m races were next up with Ellen running very well in the girls B race. The boys were next with Shane, Michael and Evan and the club performance of the night Eoin Kavanagh who won his race in a brilliant time of 52.35,

Allt the 800m runners got personal bests or close to pbs, great running all round from Aoife Ni Bhroin, Cliona Murphy, Aoife Corr, Niamh Donnelly,Sinead Cronin, Christopher Clarke, Pierre Murchan, Heather Lougheed and especially Olwyn Kennedy who has been struggling with injury for nearly a year. The official results will be up on the Dublin athletics board website later today. Great to see so many of our ‘Big Kids’ supporting each other and enjoying their athletics.

Day 3 of the Dublins

Well done to Sean Donoghue on winning his first Dublin medal when he came 3rd in the under 13 boys 600m today in Tallaght. Sean came 4th in his heat on Friday night and despite only recently joining the club ran a very mature race in his final to win his bronze medal. Sophie English made the final of the under 13 sprint but was outside the medals on this occasion. Chloe Corcoran ran a great race to finish 2nd in her 80m final and came 4th in the long jump. Last but not last, to finish off a busy weekend Abbey Corr and Sarah Jane Brennan won both their walk races. Well done to all!
