Club HoodiesCommunity Credit Union have very kindly sponsored a new club hoodie for our members. Only members who represent the club in competitions can get a club hoodie. They are not to be worn to training except at the weekend where they can be seen if they are left behind. When you pick up your hoodie please put your name on it. Hoodies will be 10 euro each. We will be dealing with the bigger sizes first and will do the younger ones this weekend at training in order that we all look wonderful for the Dublin uneven age champs on Dec1st in Tymon Park!

Chloe Corcoran made the scoring team for Dublin and wins a gold medal in the inter county event and a silver medal for the inter region. Well done to everyone.

Our under 12 and under 14 teams were in action on Sunday at the Nationals. With huge fields of approx 160 athletes and up to 20 teams in each race it was a daunting day for our girls. The under 12s finished 13th out of 19 and the. under 14s were 6th out of 19. With most of both teams running up an age group all the girls will benefit greatly from the experience. The detailed result for the younger age-groups is not up on the Athletics Ireland website yet due to continuing corrections.

In the under 18 race Cliona Murphy ran her usual steady race to finish a fine 14th overall and was the 6th scorer on the Dublin team which won the inter county and the inter region titles. Alison Armstrong had one of those days that can happen to anybody and was down the field on this occasion. Clare Brennan continued her return to racing and found the competition very tough finishing 14th in the junior womens race.

It was great to see so many staying around to watch the senior races and getting to see our twice European crosscountry champion in action.

A lot of the younger athletes are not coming to training at the weekends. We really need to see athletes in daylight to get an idea of where they are fitness wise.

Our under 12 girls and under 14 team ( listed on earlier post) have their final two sessions this week before the race at the weekend. Its very important not to miss these sessions especially since some of the team members were not at training at the weekend. The races start in Santry next Sunday at 11.30 with the under 12 girls. We will need to be out there at 10.15 at the latest to get parking as there will be a huge crowd there. Anyone who needs to get spikes from the bag needs to come to Marys house on Sat or during the week to pick them up as the bag will not be brought out on Sunday.
