Bronze medal and sparkling new pb for Alice in the all Ireland under 16 triple jump today in Tullamore👏🏻👏🏻

We had 4 athletes in action at day 3 of the national juveniles in Tullamore on Sunday last. Niamh ran in the 400m heats under 18 and wasn’t too far off a final place. Alice finished 8 th in a very competitive long jump competition under 16.
Rion made the final in the 80m under 13 finishing 7th. Very good running as she improved her pb in the heat and again in the final.
Martha made the final of her 100m under 16, ranked 8th going in but finished a fine 6th. Well done to all.

There are 4 Irish athletes are set to compete at the Diamond League in London today with 3 of them also representing Ireland at the Paris Olympics :

On Sunday the National 10 mile takes place in the Phoenix Park. Baggage crew are to meet at 7.45 sharp at the HITW. If late just follow over.

Keep an eye on tv on Sunday for the London diamond league. Should be a great event.

Alice competed today in her first pentathlon in Santry. Straight off the plane last night from her holidays and out for check in before 9. If that’s what it takes it has to be done! Over the 5 events (hurdles, shot, high jump, long jump and 800m) she finished 8th. Happy overall but delighted with her long jump where she finally got over the 5m with a new pb of 5.04m . Well done Alice, a great confidence booster for national long jump later in the month.
