Our young athletes had a great day on Wednesday in the Bogies despite the damp conditions. Thanks to Tony for his imaginatively designed course through the woods avoiding all the big puddles and the daffodils! In the 3rd class girls race Cara Maguire had a great battle just missing out on the win in the last few strides , Aisling Marron and Ellie Mannix had great runs finishing 5th and 6th and Ide Casey was delighted with her 7th place. Darla came 16th in her first cross country race! In the boys race Senan was a very impressive 2nd, Iarlaith was 4th and Alex came 7th.
Aoife Bergin battled all the way to finish 3rd in the 4th class girls race with Evie just behind her in 4th place. Edward was 6 th in the boys race and Canice was 9th.
There was a club clean sweep
In the 5th class girls with Lelia Ryan having a great run in first place, Freya Dillon 2nd, Juliette Delaney3rd, Lauren o Leary 6th, Ellen 8th and Saoirse Quinn 19th. Matthew had a great run coming 4th in the boys race with a delighted Adam Mannix just behind in 5th place.
Our 6th class crew were impressive with Pearl winning the girls race, Jessica 4th, Amelia 5th, Maggy 6th, Saoirse Rogers 7th, Maisy a very impressive 9th, Caroline 12th and Derabhla Boyle 16th! Lucien and Tom were in great form coming 2nd and 3rd in the Boys race. Well done everyone! Great show!
