Brother schools cross country

We had a huge gang in action today representing their schools in Santry. Niamh o Connor and Shona Gogarty ran really well finishing 6th and 8th in the 5th class race. Cliodhna Ryan had the race of her life finishing 3rd in the 6th class race with Emily Harrold also running a blinder coming 4th.

We don’t have any results from the boys races as yet.
In the minor girls secondary school race Caolan Collins was a fine 7th with Clare O’Connor in 10 the place. Over 150 runners on that race! The junior girls team from st Dominic’s were led to a great team gold by Alex Corr in 8th place, with Kate Harrold and Kacey Tully just behind her. Aoibh Collins had her best run in a long time in this race. Joseph Fogarty finished a good 4th in a high class junior boys race.

In the inter girls race Dora Medgyesy (st Dominics) fought a great battle to get 2nd place, Ella Mae Cromie (Mt Temple) came storming through in 8th and lead a row of club athletes Gill Murphy, Sara Byrne and Clare Murphy with Cliodhna Donaghy not far behind. The St Dominic’s team were gold medal winners.
In the inter boys race Sean Donoghue (St Declans)was in fine form, always in touch with the leaders or leading and over the last quarter of the race pulled away effortlessly to win. We had Conor Murphy running well for st Declans in the inter boys but we didn’t get a place for him. Great running!

St Dominic’s senior team were all club athletes, Emily Murphy, Celine Gavin, Keelin Gogarty, Laura Maleady and Abbey Corr ran really well as a team and won the gold medal.
Fab day for all, great to see the training paying off. Thank you to all the parents who gave lifts and supported today.

We are missing a few results from the boys races but will update when we get them.
