IMPORTANT

Due to the large volume of numbers for Wednesday evening 5th February it has been deemed necessary to move the U9/10/11 300m/400m/500m to Sunday morning 1st March, the morning of the Senior Indoor Finals, starting at 9.30am with U9 girls 300m.

Thanks to Athletics Ireland who have agreed to facilitate us following negotiations with them. This will give an opportunity to spectators and young juveniles to stay on and witness some excellent Senior Championship Finals.

The admission fee on the day is €5 for spectators and non competing athletes O/18 the same fee as on any other competition day but only up to 9.30am on the morning of 1st March otherwise it will be €10 after that time.

Please find attached revised Day 1 and programme schedule and the Programme for Day 7

Please advise your athletes and parents of this important change.

Regarding this Wednesday 5th please advise U15 – U19 athletes and spectators that they do not need to arrive at the venue before 7.30pm.

Apologies for the short notice and for any inconvenience this might cause but it was the only option available to us at this time.

Please

Regards

Cecil

National Indoor League Final. 4 in a row for our women’s team!!

In Athlone today our women’s team came out top of the Indoor Inter Club National League for the 4th year in a row. Catherine Mc Manus got us off to a good start with a fine 2nd place in the 200m . Emily Corcoran finished 2nd in the high jump and Jodie McCann rocked up another 2nd place in the 1500m. Catherine finished 1st in the 400m. Clare Murphy made her competition debut in the triple jump.

In the guest races Joseph Mcloughlin had his first indoor race over the 200m, Sam ran a PB in his 200m, Sean ran a PB in his 800m, Joe and Ian competed well in the 800 and 400.
In the women’s events Clare Murphy ran a PB in her 400m with Ashley close to her best. Gillian ran her first 800 indoor this season.
The relays finished off the team competition and as the women were well ahead going into the relay, Catherine took over as relay coach and after a very gutsy exciting run by all the the young team of Ashley, Clare, Caoimhe and Allison came 3rd , and won the overall competition and were presented with the winners trophy for the 4th year in a row. Well done to everyone. Thank you to Dermot, Tony and Brian for all their support to the team.
