Indoors 2019 getting there!!!

Another weekend of indoor action for our older athletes saw us getting closer to the end of indoor season 2019! Highlight of the weekend was Catherine McManus winning a silver medal in the 200m less than an hour after digging deep in the 400m final and narrowly missing out on 3rd place. Alison Burke finishing a fine 4th in the 60m hurdles final, Daire Finn was in contention in the 1500m final but didn’t have the energy when the long sprint for home got going but did well that’s finish 6th. Caoimhe Lynam ran a solid 400m in a quality heat and didn’t progress to the final on this occasion.

Muireann equalled her PB in the pole vault yet again in a good quality pole vault competition. Cliona Murphy and Jodie McCann both had good PBs in the 3000m. Clare Brennan continues her return to fitness just missing out on a final place in the 1500m.

Well done to everyone. Thank you to all the young ones who looked after the kit baskets. You did a great job! Thanks to all the parents and friends who supported our athletes at the weekend.

In the junior girls race Clare o Connor came 13th in a very competitive team race the St Dominics team did their best but missed out on Nationals. A very high quality inter girls race was dominated by Loreto Kilkenny and the St Dominics team Gillian, Clare, Sara and Cliodhna came 3rd. Sean Donoghue returned to racing with a fine 2nd place in the inter boys race. Dora, Emily, Celine and Keelin came 2nd team in the senior girls race for St Dominics. Well done everyone.
