The inaugural Dublin schools cross country championships for first and Second year students was held in the Phoenix Park today. Clare o Connor had her first outing for st Dominic’s and finished a fine 4th in a field of over 200 runners. Joseph Fogarty continued his fine form and showed what a talent he is with a very impressive win in the first year boys race in his first outing for st Declans.

In the second year race Alex Corr finished a very good 5th and led her st Dominic’s team to first place. The backup team of Kacey Tully, Kate Harrold, Caolan Gogarty all ran their socks off to win the first Dublin championship. Well done everyone

Thur 28th Sept , best of luck to some of our first and second year secondary school athletes who are competing at the inaugural Dublin schools cross country championships in the Phoenix Park starting at 11am . Course will be on what we know as the Cabbage Patch near the Popes Cross.

Thur 28th Sept Training for everyone else at 7pm SHARP at the Hole in the Wall. Wear white/high viz tops, flashing armbands!

Sat 30th Sept Hole in the Wall 10.30 all sprints group plus older middle distance group

Sun Oct 1st Cross country league 2. Phoenix Park. Athletes born in 2005 and younger meet at the Popes cross carpark at 10.15 sharp. Older athletes follow over to Magazine Hills area for 11am. We expect all athletes to represent the club on Sunday except those with genuine excuses not to be there. Please bring hoodies and tracksuit bottoms to wear after your event.

Sat 23rd Sept Hole in the Wall 10.30 sprints group plus middle school distance group 2004 and older.

Sun 24th Sept Hole in the wall 11am all younger athletes. Very important to be there this Sunday as we will be training on the course for league 2 on Oct 1st.

Well done to all 42 athletes who represented the club so well today at league 1. Great wins for Joe Fogarty under 14 , Gillian Murphy under 15, Sara Byrne under 16 and Dora under 17. Runner ups were Caolan Collins under 13,Alex Corr under 14, Ella Mae under 17. Very good runs too from Clare o Connor, Kacey Tully, Finn McAuley, Cillian Crawford-Confitt,, Celine Gavin , Niamh o Connor, Shona Gogarty and Conor Murphy. Thank you to all the parents who brought their children especially the new members who all acquitted themselves very well and Melissa, Kim and Teresa for sorting out the numbers. Lovely sunny morning in Ardgillen, couldn’t beat it😁.
