We are an athletic club located in the Navan Rd area. We cater for ages between 10 an 80 years of age.
Training week beginning Sat 9th July
Sat 9th July Santry 10.30 for those still competing. Hole in the wall 10.30 for everyone else
Sun 10 th July Hole in the wall 11am , senior group only. No training this Sunday for younger athletes.
Tue 12th July Hole in the wall 10.30-everyone
Wed 13th July graded meeting. Anyone racing enter on line.
National Juvenile Championships day 1
This Sunday in Tullamore we have day 1 of the Nationals starting at 10am. Club athletes competing this Sunday are Emily Corcoran (high jump under 16), Alison Burke (hurdles under 17), Daire Finn (800 under 18). Timetable of events are on AAI website. Best of luck to everyone.
National/under 23 championships
Tullamore had all four seasons today for the junior and under 23 championships. . Alison Burke was first into action on her first run over 400m hurdles where she finished a good 5th. Fifth place also for Daire Finn in the final of the junior 800m, Cliona Murphy in the 1500 under 23 final and Caoimhe Lynam in her heat of the junior 400m. Alison Armstrong came 2nd in the junior steeplechase , Clare Brennan came 3rd in the 1500m under 23, Pierre Murchan came 3rd in the junior 1500m and Finn Burke power came 6th in the final of the junior 400. Finn, Caoimhe, Daire and Alison Burke all have 2 years left at junior level and will learn from their experience today for future races. Good to see Olwyn back in action in the 1500m under 23. Well done everyone.
Pierre confirmed for world juniors.
Great news just released that Pierre has been selected for the Irish team to compete at the world junior track and field championships in Poland later this month. He will run in the 5000m. Added to Catherine’s selection for the European championships this has been a very good few weeks for our club. Both these athletes work very hard and are an inspiration to all our club members young and old. Enjoy the experience you two, its a great honour for you both to represent your country.
