Pierre hits standard for world juniors!

Pierre Murchan knocked 19 seconds off his previous best time over 3000m today in Belfast. He came 3rd in the A 3000m running 8mins 11 seconds which is a B standard for the world junior 5k. He needs to run inside 8mins 15 a second time to ensure qualification. Great running and he starts his first year college science exams on Tuesday. Well done and best of luck on Tuesday.

Finn Burke Power went to Leevale sports in cork and came a very good 2nd in the 400m running 51.33 which is just off his pb. Catherine McManus came 2nd in the hurdles and 5th in the 100. She whacked a few hurdles and got herself a nice big bruise on her knee and had to withdraw from.the 200m. Steffi Creaner came 5th in the 200m in her opening race of the season. Good times😊!

Report from league 2 in santry

We had a good turnout at the second competition for our younger athletes on Saturday. All the results haven’t been done up yet but so far our best performers on the day were Dora, Sean Donoghue, Chloe Corcoran and Emily Corcoran. More detailed results later. Well done to all and thanks to the parents who supported their children.

Jim Corrigan Rip

We are sad to announce the death of one of the founder members of the original Celtic Athletic Club in the seventies on the Navan road. Jim spent many years coaching and encouraging all the young athletes. In later years he was delighted to see the revival of the club and he followed our progress with great interest. To his wife Nora and his daughters especially Bridget who a lot of our current members would know from her involment with our high jumpers. Rip dear Jim.
