Sara Jane Darcy was just outside the top six.

Last weekend some of our older crew were running for their collages in the Intervarsity road relays in Maynooth. Pierre Murchan was on the winning DCU team and he ran the fastest 2 mile leg of the day. Dublin uneven ages/Junior/ Senior

The Dublin cross country championships day 2 were held in glorious sunshine on a very nice course in Tymon Park today. No wind, no muck, lots of hills, jellie and chocolate filled athletes and 16 degrees ☺, whats not to like about a day like that? Once again our boys stole the show with two fine wins from Daire Finn in the under 17 race and Pierre in the Junior mens race. Both were very impressive and should justifyably be very happy with their runs. Evan also ran well in the mens junior finishing 13th overall. Alison Armstrong was very happy with her strong run in the womens junior race where she finished 2nd with Cliona close behind in 4th.

In the younger age groups Lily Farrell was delighted with her 11th place and her first cross country medal and Sheona ran very well in 15th place. Caolan Collins continued her return to fitness with a brilliant run in the under 11 race where she finished 7th moving up from 12th over the last 500m. Niamh and Aoife battled all the way and unfortunately we didnt have a 4th runner to make up a team.
Our girls under 13 were without Claire Murphy who was sick all week but with Kate, Alex and Antonia finishing 10th, 11th and 12th were very close to a team medal but missed out this time. Well done to Antoinette, Aoibh and Clare who completed our team. Conor Murphy was our lone ranger in the boys under 13 and he ran well finishing in th top 20. Dora had a great run over a tough 3500m course and finished a fine 7th in the girls under 15.

Our senior girls found 6k of undualating cross country very tough but Niamh, Clare, Aoife and Edel all ran their best and were happy enough with their results.

Busy day! Thanks to all the parents who supported. Next outing will be Nationals in Santry where our under 12 girls team and Sean Donoghue will be in action. Pierre , Cliona and Alison will be competing in the National Juniors on the same date. The following Sunday League 3 for all the younger athletes will be in Tymon park.
