Water stations!

A huge thank you to all the parents and children and teenagers who came early this morning to work at the Water stations for the half marathon. Thank you for giving up your August Bank holiday Sunday lie in, even though it felt more like October Bank Holiday weekend! Well done to all the’young entertainers’ who really got into the spirit of rock n roll and sent the runners by with a smile on their faces. Hopefully the blisters will heal up soon 😠 Enjoy the next few weeks break. We will be looking for helpers for the baskets at the Nationals next weekend and will be in touch during the week. You are a great bunch. ☺.

PBs & DMR Debut! – Dublin Graded 29th July

CLJrSngWcAEjHV2

We had some great runs at the Dublin Graded on Wednesday the 29th July. Niamh Donnelly placed 3rd in the 800m with a PB of 2.13.21. In the same race, Claire Brennan placed a close 6th, also with a PB of 2.15.78! Both knocked roughly 3 seconds off their previous times – great running! Aoife Ni Bhrion also put in a strong performance in the A race and finished in a time of 2.27.16. There was also a great battle down the home straight in the Women’s 800 B race – Sinead Cronin placed joint first on the line in a time of 2.25.76 with Aislinn Moorhouse placing a tight 4th in 2.26.28.

On the mens side, Richie Lombard placed an excellent 4th in the Mens A 800m in 2.01.20, despite felling unwell with a flu on the day. In a very tight Mens B2 800m, Ben Quinn ran a time of 2.06.72 to finish strongly in a big field.

To finish off the Graded series, we entered our first DCH Mixed DMR (Distance Medley Relay) into the competition. Leading off we had Ben Quinn who ran the 800m leg, passing into Catherine McManus who made her 400m debut on the second leg. Claire Brennan battled it out over the 1200m leg – being the only woman out of all teams to do so! Richie Lombard brought the team home in 10th place running the 1600m leg. Great running and team spirit shown by the team and supporters!

Well done all!
