League 3 in Tallaght

There was a good turnout from the club at day 3 of the juvenile leagues in Tallaght. As on the previous dates our under 12 girls were prominent with Alex Corr finishing a fine 3rd place in the 600m. The under 10 and 11 girls also ran well. Sarah, Clare and Laura May found the pace fast in the 400m. Kate Harrold and Aoibh Collins ran very well in the 600m races coming 3rd and 4th. Sean Donoghue was a good 2nd in his 1500m. Emily and Chloe Corcoran finished 1st and 2nd in their high jump.Alison Burke came straight from her hurdles in the schools to win her under 16 high jump. Standout performer on the day was Dora with a very impressive 2nd in the 1500m under 15 with Ella Mae in 4th place. Well done everyone.

Day 2 Leinster schools,

Eight club athletes were representing their schools today in Santry. Eoin Kavanagh ran a personal best in the 400m hurdles narrowly missing out on a bronze medal and Alison Burke was also 4th in the inter 300m hurdles. In the 8oom races Finn ran a personal best of 2.03.78 in the inter boys race and can run in the inter age group again next year. Alison Armstrong ran a solid race finishing 3rd in the senior girls race. Muireann Mc Ginley jumped a personal best and a Leinster schools record while winning the senior pole vault. In the senior 1500m races Cliona Murphy ran a great race finishing 2nd in a personal best 4.42.61 and Pierre came 3rd in the boys race. Ben and Jamie competed in the inter 800m and pole vault and will have better days. Well done to all.

Training/ Competition week beginning Sat 16th May

Sat 16th May League 3 for under 10 through to under 16. See earlier post for programme. Event start at 11am in Tallaght. Bring 3 euro entry fee. Al lyounger athletes should try to compete in the leagues. Jane will be in charge. Be there at 10.15.

Sat 16th May Leinster schools day 2 in Santry. Timetable on AAI website. Dublin Community Games 2015

The Dublin Community Games athletics finals will be in Santry on the weekend of 13th and 14th June. We had a lot of trophy winners last year and this is a reminder to all to get their trophy engraved and returned directly to Community Games office in Carmichael House or make sure it is brought to Santry on 13th/14th June. Engraving will be done free of charge at Irish Rubies in Marlborough St (behind the Pro Cathedral).

Leinster schools day 1

Glorious sunshine 😊 greeted us in Santry for day1 of Leinster schools championships. Our standout performer on the day was Chloe Corcoran who won 3 silver medals in the minor 100m, 500m and helped her team to 2nd in the relay. Great running Chloe 😊. Alison burke came 2nd in the under 16 long jump, Caoimhe Lynam came 4th in under 16 200m, Alison Armstrong won the senior girls steeplechase, Daire Finn was 4th in the mile under 16 and Ella Mae cromie was 6th in the minor 1100m. Well done to all. Day 2 next Saturday.
