News update.

Well done to Catherine Mc Manus who won the hurdles race at the Mary Peters Track in Belfast last night. She also came 3rd in the 100m. This weekend the National junior and under 23 championships will be held in Cork. We will have 6 athletes in action, Catherine, Sinead, Heather, Pierre, Eoin and Alison Armstrong. Catherine and Pierre will also be running in the Cork City sports on next Tuesday night if anyone is down that way.Its always a great night of athletics.

We have recieved official confirmation that Alison Armstrong has been selected for the Irish schools team for the schools international in Cardiff. Alison will compete in the steeplechase.Getting a place on the Irish Schools team is a great achievement and she follows in the footsteps of Catherine Mc Manus and Steffi Creaner who both made the team in their younger days.

Sat 28th June Training in Santry at 10.30 for anyone whos free. No training at Hol in the Wall today.

Results update from Graded meeting in Tallaght

Well done to all our older athletes who competed in the Graded races in Tallaght this week. Aoife, Pierre and Heather improved on their personal best times.Aislinn, Sinead, Niamh and Alison ran really well and were close to their best. Good to see Ben and Evan racing well in their 1500m. Eoin ran his first 200m in 24.02. Keep it up everyone!.

Results update

At the Tailteann Games on Saturday Alison Armstrong had a fine win in the steeplechase. This competition is used to select the team for the schools international in Cardiff next month. The team hasnt been oficially announced yet but Alison should be on her way to Cardiff! Well done Alison! In the past Catherine McManus and Steffi Creaner have made that team.

In Santry on Sunday a number of our athletes ran as guests in the National inter club round 2. Niamh Donnelly, Sinead Cronin, Cliona Murphy and Heather Lougheed ran in the womens 1500m, Aoife Corr and Pierre ran in the 800m, Ellen ran in the 200m, Aoife Ni Bhroin and Eoin Kavanagh ran in the 400m. All the girls with Alison Armstrong ran in the 4x 400m relay. Eoin and Pierre were both in winning form today.

On Wednesday next the Big kind leagues are on in Tallaght with 200m and 1500m of interest to us. Register on line on Dublin athletics board website if you are competing.

At the European Team championship in Estonia Catheine Mc Manus ran the 3rd leg of the relay for Ireland and the team finished 5th overall. Well done to the Irish team which had to compete in awful weather in sharp contrast to the lovely weekend in Santry.

Training Monday morning at the Hole in the Wall will be at the earlier time of 10.30. Spread the word please.
