Results update

The Dublin even age groups cross country championships took place today in the Phoenix Park. Ava Mannix raced very well in her first dublin championships in the under 10 girls race. Cara was our lead runner in the under 12 race with Isabelle having her best race so far , Ellie not too far away , backed up by our newbies Mia, Ellen ,Rachel, Ide and Aoibhinn. Tough outing over 2k for all the girls.

In the under 14 girls race Freya ran herself to a standstill coming 10th, Juliette had a stunning run up an age group, Amelia, Emma, Lauren( up an age group)and Lelia found the going tough but gave it their all over the 2500m course.

Our under 16 girls headed out in the rain over their 3,500m course and were led in by Sara in 10th place. Saoirse Rogers ( up an age group) stormed through the field with a great run and 2nd Celtic finisher followed by Megan , Jessica, Pearl and Caroline and Lama. Well done to Ella and Abigail whose job today was to finish and both girls did their job well.

Our boys under 16 were led in by Daire (up an age group) with a very good last lap , Sam, Oscar and Dan are new to competitive action and will have gained valuable experience today.

Well done to everyone. Thank you to the parents for bringing their children and for supporting. Thank you to Niamh who rocked at the start line on behalf of the club.
Our next outing will be league 2 in 2 weeks time.

Training/competition this week

Sat 5th Oct Dunboyne track meet 9.30 for warm up. Sprints group and older middle distance group. Organise lifts on Friday night.

Sun 6th Oct training at 11 for sprints group and those not racing today.

Under 10 and under 12 athletes racing today meet at the Popes cross car park at 9.45. Please don’t be fooled by ‘we live beside the park’ so we can leave later.
Older athletes make sure you are on site at club flag one hour before scheduled race time. Best of luck to all competing.

Tue 8th Oct Grangegorman at 7pm everyone

Thur 10th Oct HITW 5pm long run. Everyone else Grangegorman at 7.

Brother schools update

We had a big gang competing today in Santry at the annual Brother schools cross country races.
Cara Maguire had a great run finishing 3rd overall in the 5th class race and led her team from MHOC to team silver with Isabelle, Ellie, Ide and club newbie Ellen on her team. Great running girls.

Ellen Fisher was our lone competitor in the girls minor race and she ran very well.

In the junior race Pearl finished a fine 3rd with Jessica, Caroline, Emma (best run ever), Saoirse and Lelia winning the team gold for st Dominic’s.

In the inter girls race Sara finished 3rd and led her team to gold with Erin , Aoibhinn and Lama on the team.

Lily and Freya were on the senior team from St Dominic’s which were team winners.
Niall , Canice and Edward competed for John Bosco , Mia competed for Castleknock Ed together.
