We had two CelticDch athletes in action today in Abbottstown , both competing in their first senior Nationals (for the experience ). Aimee ran in heat 4 of the 400m and survived the nerves to run a good race not too much off her personal best time. Goda had a very good run in her 1500m only dropping off the pace on the last two laps but ran an 8 secs personal best. Great result! Niamh Carr and Cliodhna (DCH) ran in the 1500 with Niamh making the final tomorrow and Cliodhna was a little below form today .Joe Gogarty continues to race himself back to fitness with two 800m races under his belt in the inter varsity’s and the heats of the national seniors.

Last Sunday we had some Celticdch graduates running for our senior club in the National intermediate cross country in Dundalk. Long time graduate Susie McManus won her first National individual medal finishing 3rd overall and Clare o Connor was 4th scorer on the winning DCH team. A week earlier Conor Murphy was 4th scorer on the DCH men’s team which won the Leinster intermediate cross country and Clare scored on the women’s team which came 2nd
Christopher was the 4th scorer on the men’s team which finished 3rd and it was his first time to medal in a National event. Well done everyone.

The St Dominic’s girls came 3rd team and qualified for national in March.
Megan and Ella ran well in the junior girls race.
Goda was our best placed athlete today with a very good run in 10th place in the inter girls race with brilliant back up
from Erin and Aoibhinn to win the Leinster school team race for St Dominic’s. Great running from the three girls.
Ava was on the silver medal team for Mt Sackville.
Cliona had a solid run in the senior race which she fitted in on a break from her leaving cert mocks!
