Leixlip competition

We had 6 athletes in action at the le Cheile meeting in Leixlip on Friday night. Emily Corcoran had her first outing over 200m. Aoife Corr had a great run in her 800m close to her personal best. Edel Monaghan ran strongly in her 800. Joe Fogarty had his opening race of the season and should be happy with his performance. Celine Gavin ran her first 5k on the track and was a very good 3rd in 17.35. Celine ran a controlled race through out and managed to ignore some very ambitious pacing at the front of the pack!

Craig Duffy jumped for the first time since indoors and came 3rd in the competition. With no practice he had trouble with his mark but actually had a tiny break on a 6.60 jump which is very encouraging. Well done everyone!

Results update

Graded 2 was held in Tallaght on Wednesday evening with 200m and 800m races on the programme. Catherine Mcmanus unfortunately had to pull up with a hamstring injury in her first outing of the season and will be out of action for a few weeks.
In the women’s 800 races we had a fine win for Aoife Donaghy in her race, no pbs but good competitive outings for Aoife ni Bhroin, Celine Gavin, Gillian Murphy, Clare O Connor and Edel McNamara.

In the men’s races Sean Donoghue had a great run winning his A race with a very powerful last 100m. Good running in their races from Conor and Evan.

In Finland Nadia Power won her 800m race in her third fastest time ever. Well done to everyone.
