Great to see Pierre back in action today at the IMC meeting in Leixlip over 3000m. This was his first day on a track since last August and he finished in 3rd missing out narrowly on 2nd place running a faster time than he did in the same race last year. A very encouraging result and hopefully will lead to better things as the season progresses. Daire Finn also ran well in his first outing over 3k. In the 1500m races Sean Donoghue didn’t enjoy the windy conditions but he remained competitive to the finish line as did Susie Mc Manus in the womens event. Cliona Murphy was close to her best time in the 800m and like everyone else could have done without the gales.
In an equally blustery Irishtown Alison Burke won a close race in the under 19 sprint hurdles and rushed back home to prepare for her final leaving cert exams on Monday. Ashley and Ian both came 3rd in their 400m. Reece and Sam also ran well in their 400 and 200m races. Antonia, Aontoinette and Ashley all made the finals of their 200m. Well done everyone.
