North Leinster schools in Santry
We had a group of athletes representing 3 schools competing at the North Leinster’s on Wednesday and Friday of this week. Still Dominics Cabra were represented by Alison Burke (1st senior hurdles and 2nd in 100m). Emily Corcoran 1st in senior high jump. Emily Murphy 3rd in senior 1500m. In the inter age group Clare Murphy won the 300m hurdles, Dora was 2nd in the 1500m. We had 3 athletes in the inter 800m, Sara Byrne 4th, Ella Mae 5th (Mount Temple ,) and Aoibh Collins (Dominican Griffith ave)6th. This was a very competitive race with Sara and Ella Mae running much faster than in the graded last week.
In the under 16 events Ashley was a fine 3rd in the 200m final and Gillian Murphy ran a brave race despite being under the weather coming 2nd in the mile. In the 4x 300m relay Aoibh Collins was on a very impressive Dominican collect Griffith college winning team with the Cabra team of Ashley, Clare, Gillian and Sara coming 2nd.
In the junior races Kate Harrold 4th and Kacey Tully 6th in the 800m, Keelin Gogarty 1500 and Joseph McLaughlin 800 both ran well.
In the minor 1100m Clare o, Connor ran herself to a standstill in 4th place just missing out on a place in the Leinster finals.
Well done everyone. Thanks to all the parents and grandparents who supported over the two days in Santry.
