We had around 30 athletes in action at league 4 in Santry on Saturday. Thank you to all the parents who brought their children out and supported them. Thanks to Edel, Kim and Jane who looked after the gang.

We had a busy little group in action at the Clonliffe Harriers open sports in Santry yesterday. Great running from Lily Farrell, Antonia and Antoniette, Clare Murphy, Dora, Gabriella, Sean Donoghue, Sara Byrne, Chloe Corcoran and Emily Murphy. Great to see those who train regularly coming through at the races.
Next Saturday in Santry we will have league 4 for our younger athletes. This will be the last in the series and the programme will be on the website in the next day or so.
Day 2 of the Leinster schools was held in a sunny but breezy Santry today. The club got off to a good start with Alison Burke winning her first Leinster schools medal by coming a fine 3rd in the inter 300m hurdles. Our star performer of the day was Daire Finn who had a busy afternoon winning silver medals in both the 800m and 1500m inter boys races. This was a very tough double and was a great result for Daire. Emily Corcoran just missed out on equalling her indoor pb in the high jump with a narrow miss at 1m 64cm but she won a silver medal with 1m 61cm and has another year in the inter age group. Muireann Mc Ginley was third in the senior pole vault and Caoimhe Lynam was 5th in the 300m in a very fast 42.69. Also competing today were St Dominics Relay team with Emily and Alison on the team, Caoimhe was on the CCC relay team and Sara Jane was in the inter 1500m. Well done to everyone.
In Waterford at the Tón Le Gaoithe competition, Catherine McManus finished 3rd in the 100m with a seasons best of 11.93 in the Ton Na Gaoithe sprint meeting and she also ran her second fastest 200m ever at the same meeting. Steffi Creaner finished 5th in her 200m race knocking another chunk off her seasons best.
Busy times! Lots of races. All our younger athletes should be heading to Santry tomorrow for Clonliffe open sports. Starts at 1.30. Be there for 1. Bring your 3 euro and dont forget to bring a drink!
