IMC races in Greystones

Update day 2 West and North Leinster Schools

Day 2 of the West Leinster went as follows. Caoimhe Lynam added the 200m win to her 300m win from day 1 and her team from CCC won the relay. Daire Finn added the 800m gold to his 1500m gold from day 1. Sean Donoghue also had a double gold winning the 800m on day 2. Ben Quinn came 5th in the senior 800 and is underage for this again next year. Finn Burke-Power came 3rd in his 200m heat. Chloe Corcoran was on the winning junior relay team.

Day 2 of the north Leinsters started off with a gold medal for Emily Corcoran in the inter high jump. Alison Burke added gold in the 300m hurdles to her 80m hurdles gold from day 1, Anna Petit had a great run to come 2nd in the minor 800m and to round off the day Alison Burke and Emily Corocoran were on the St Dominics team which came 2nd in the inter girls relay.
A hectic week for our secondary school athletes and for a welcome change we were absolutely blessed with four lovely sunny days.

Day 1 North Leinster schools

Club athletes from St Dominics Cabra and Mount temple competed in the North Leinster schools on Tuesday in Santry. Our standout performers were Dora Medgyesy who won the junior 1500m, Clare Murphy who was 2nd in the minor 1100m, Aoife Corr was 3rd in the senior 400m, Ellen Byrne was 6th in the senior 1500m and Alison Burke won the inter sprint hurdles. Sara Byrne, Anna Petit and Clare Murphy ran really well in the relay and narrowly missed a place in the final. Well done to all.

Results day 1 West Leinster schools

Our athletes had a busy day at West Leinster day 1 in Santry today. Sean Donoghue had a good win in the minor boys 1100m, Chloe Corcoran won the junior 100m, Daire Finn won the inter 1500, Caoimhe Lynam won the inter 300m, Sara Jane Brennan a fantastic 3rd in the inter 1500m, Finn Burke Power 3rd in the inter 400m and Ben Casey 6th in the mile under 16, Muireann was 2nd in the senior pole vault and Jamie was 2nd in the inter boys pole vault. . Great running and jumping by all and very well done.

Juvenile results from Irishtown

On Saturday we had our first competition on the track for 2016 for our younger athletes. There was a huge number of athletes at the competition with countless races on the day. Our standout performers were Chloe Corcoran, Kacey Tully, Clare Murphy, Anna Petit and Dora Medgyesy. Well done to all who competed and thank you to the parents who helped out and supported the children on the day.
