Schools cross country update

Our girls were on fire at the Leinster schools qualifers last week in Avondale and ALSAA. On Wednesday in Avondale Alison Armstrong came 3rd in the senior girls race at the East Leinsters.
Friday was North Leinster day in ALSAA. First off was the minor girls team from St Dominics. Clare Murphy ran the race of her life finishing 2nd overall, Anna Petit, Sara Byrne, Cliodhna Donaghy and Gillian Murphy ran their socks off to win the team title for their school!

in the junior girls race Dora Medgyesy continued her fine form ( despite a heavy Cold) with a fine win. Her team finished 3rd with Sara Jane Darcy also on the team narrowly qualifying for the Leinsters. Good to see Ella Mae Cromie back in action for Mount Temple in the junior race with Laura May Galvin also on their team.
In the senior girls race Ellen Byrne battled all the way to 6th place and led her team of Aoife Corr, Emily Murphy, Abbey Corr and Aoife Donaghy to 2nd behind a very strong Loreto Mullingar team.

Great running from all the girls and especially great to see the Murphy girls all back running well . Keep it up, its not going to get easier!☺. Leinster up next on 10 Feb in Santry.

National League Round 1 (Jan 16th)

We had a host of Celtic/DCHers opening up their indoor seasons at the National League in Athlone today.

Special mention to our DCH Women’s Team who managed to finish at the top of the league table by the end of the day . Scoring members for the team this weekend were Catherine in the Shot Putt (3rd) & 60m Hurdles (1st), Alison Burke in the 60m (6th) & Long Jump (4th), Niamh Donnelly in the 800m (2nd) and Muireann McGinley in the Pole Vault (3rd). Great work and onwards to League Round Two on the 30th of Jan where even more of the team will be out in force!
