Confirmation of National results from Adamstown

The results are finally up for the races in Wexford last weekend. Cliona Carthy was 13th, Cliona Murphy 16th and Alison Armstrong 33rd in the under 17 race. The two Clionas made the gold medal winning team for Dublin in the inter county and inter provincial events and Alison made the inter pro team. Confirmation of the under 19 race and our girls are 2nd. Its worth noting that Clare Brennan and Olwyn Kennedy were on our under 13 girls team which won the National inter club six years ago and Heather came on board the year after. Five of that six are still active in the club which is a great tribute to all of them despite many trials and tribulations along the way! Well done girls, we are all very proud of you.

Nationals in Wexford

We had two teams in action at Day 2 of the Nationals in Wexford today. As there was a problem with the chip result system we dont have definite results yet but we are fairly sure that our gallant under 19 girls got 2nd team. They were led in by Claire Brennan in 10th place, a brilliant run for Claire who has battled breathing problems for the last 3 to 4 years but has never given up the faith! Well done Claire. Olwyn Kennedy had probably her best run ever finishing 14th with Heather just behind. Eva Redmond found the going tough but battled right to the end.

In the under 17 event Cliona Carthy had a great run finishing 13th with Cliona Murphy running her usual strong race finishing 17th. Alison Armstrong drifted back on the last lap and Caoimhe Jamesion found the going very tough but managed to finish. The two Clionas should get on the Dublin scoring teams.

Aoife Corr finished 43rd in the under 15 race.

The course in Adamstown was old style cross country in a farmers field with a little bit of cows manure sprinkled about but a very good course for cross country.
