League 1 in Donabate

We got off to a great start on Sunday in the lovely grounds of Newbridge House for day 1 of the Dublin cross-country league races. Keelan Gogarty finished a fine 4th in the first event of the day the under 9 girls race.Sara and Leah were running in their first race and ran really well. Following on from there we had fine runs from Alex, Liam, the Murphy gang Conor, Gillian and Clare, Anna, new girl Caoimhe, the two Sarahs in the under 11, Laura May. We had fine runs too from Dora, Emily, Sophie, Ella-Mae, Billy Brennan and Sean Harper. Alison Burke, Sarah Jane and Ciara were impressive in their races and in the older age groups Ben Quinn, Aoife, Ellen, Michael and Maia were well up in their age groups. The under 14 boys will need to step up the pace a bit if they are to feature in the Dublin championships in November but they have plenty of time to do that. Well done to everyone who ran today, experience and confidence will be gained by everyone from competing in these races. Thank you to all the parents who brought their children to the competition and to those who helped sort out the numbers.
