Results update

On Saturday and Sunday our indoor qualifiers for National were in action in Athlone. Some were first timers at that level and were there for the experience and others were there to improve on previous years.Tom and Lucien competed in the walk for the first time in the Dublin championship as did Max in the shot and found the step up to national to be a big one but all will learn from the experience as will Rion from her first nationals in the under 12 sprint.
Cliodhna raced in the finals of the 1500 and 800 and expected more from herself, Goda didn’t make the 800m final last year and improved this year by qualifying and lost out on 4th place overall by a tiny margin! Aimee Ryan marginally missed a place in the 200m final under 16 but ran a big pb 26.68 and was very happy with that!
Alice had a car breakdown on the way arriving just as her long jump was almost starting. She didn’t get her usual warmup done so was out of sorts and missed a place in the final. Well done everyone,

Cliona Murphy ran her first half marathon this weekend in Berlin clocking just over one hour 16 mins. A great result. Well done!

Thank you to all the parents who brought their children to Athlone and supported them over the two weekends.
