All Ireland Schools Cross Country, Galway
Our girls put in some very good performances at the All Ireland schools in Galway on Saturday. Ellen Byrne finished 18th in the Junior race and Aoife Corr finished a fine 33rd despite a heavy fall at the start. In the senior girls race Heather Lougheed led her St Dominic’s college team to silver medals behind the powerful Colaiste Iosagain. Heather was 11th , followed by Cliona Murphy and Eva Redmond who along with three other girls from the school made up the team. Olwyn Kennedy ran well finishing just behind Cliona with Olwyn leading her Mt. Sackville team to 4th place.
Inter-varsities, Galway
At the inter-varsity championships in Waterford Susie Mc Manus finished 14th and Sinead Cronin finished 35th on a very tough course. Well done to all. Susan was on the scoring team for DCU which came second.
High Jumpers Note
There will be no high jump in the School Assembly Hall this week as it is booked out for a play.
