The primary schools relays are taking place this week in Santry. In Mondays event our athletes from D7ET were in action. Lia Butler-Lynch and Keelin Collins were both on the school under 12 team which won the gold medal. The girls ran great and were delighted with their medals. Julianne ran for Adamstown under 12 and her team came 4th in their heat. Well done to all

Pierre achieves World Junior 5k time

Pierre ran his first 5k track race in Oordegem in Belgium last night at the IFAM meet and made it inside the qualifying time for World Juniors in Poland by less than a second! The race was held at the end of a programme that started at 9am and went non stop all day until 12.30 at night. His race was at 12.20 at night there, 11.20pm our time! Hundreds of races all run off smack on time. Great result for Pierre and it brings him to number 5 on the Irish SENIOR ranking list at the moment. Huge well done!
Catherine McManus was happy with her 100m and was unfortunately and herself and Steffi Creaner both ran well in the 200m into a headwind.

Back in Glasgow Cliona Murphy ran very well in her 1500m in the Irish versus Scottish university meeting coming 2nd in her 1500m. Well done to all!
